Description & Coverage
Description:

Academic scholars engaged in the machining of polymer matrix composites encounter formidable challenges, including material property variations, complex structures, and the quest for high surface quality. Insufficient comprehensive resources exacerbate these hurdles, hindering scholars' ability to develop efficient and sustainable machining techniques. Addressing this problem necessitates in-depth knowledge, practical guidance, and insights into the environmental impact of machining these composites.

Machining Polymer Matrix Composites: Tools, Techniques, and Sustainability emerges as the definitive solution. Edited by Francisco Mata Cabrera and Issam Hanafi, this book provides a comprehensive understanding of machining processes specific to polymer matrix composites. Covering tool selection, cutting parameters, surface quality, and tool wear, it equips scholars with practical knowledge to surmount the intricacies of machining these materials. With detailed insights into turning, milling, drilling, grinding, and the latest advancements in high-speed and ultrasonic machining, the book offers a comprehensive toolbox for scholars seeking to optimize their machining techniques.

The book explores energy consumption, waste generation, and emissions, and guides scholars toward sustainable machining processes. The inclusion of case studies facilitates practical applications, providing valuable insights into challenges and opportunities. This comprehensive solution, encompassing knowledge, practical guidance, and sustainability considerations, empowers academic scholars to achieve high-quality machined components while minimizing their environmental footprint.

Machining Polymer Matrix Composites: Tools, Techniques, and Sustainability has become an indispensable resource for academic scholars.
