Introduction

This book explores reflections, applications and simulations on the use of emerging technologies to reinvent models, approaches and practices of territorial management, for greater attractiveness, sustainability and inclusion. It also offers a range of epistemological postures, analyses, approaches, protocols and disciplines.

Beyond the technological aspects, this book explores organizational changes, collaborative governance models, innovative financing mechanisms and territorial marketing strategies needed to support the transition to smart, innovative and sustainable territories. It highlights the potential synergies between smart management initiatives, local entrepreneurship, circular economy and sustainable development goals at the territorial level.

By bringing together contributions from researchers, policymakers, professionals and experts from different disciplines, this book aims to stimulate a fruitful dialogue and foster a thorough understanding of the issues related to the deployment of smart territorial management. It offers readers innovative perspectives, concrete examples and practical recommendations to address current challenges and shape more innovative, sustainable and inclusive territories for future generations.



Objective

The book aims to position itself as an invaluable resource, both for researchers and for local practitioners and actors. It is committed to enriching all theoretical and methodological knowledge on Territorial Smart Management while offering tangible tools for effective action in the field. Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before June 9, 2024, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by June 23, 2024 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters are expected to be submitted by August 11, 2024, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-anonymized review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Utilizing Technology to Manage Territories. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-anonymized peer review editorial process.
