Introduction

"Interdisciplinary Approaches to Transportation and Urban Planning" delves into the intricate relationship between transportation systems and urban planning strategies, emphasizing the need for interdisciplinary collaboration to address the multifaceted challenges of contemporary urban environments. This book brings together leading experts from various disciplines to provide a comprehensive overview of the latest research, innovative approaches, and practical solutions in the field.

Objective

The primary objective of this book is to foster a deeper understanding of the intersection between transportation and urban planning through interdisciplinary perspectives. By exploring the synergies between these two critical domains, the book aims to: Examine the historical evolution and current state of transportation systems and urban planning practices. Identify emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in urban mobility and spatial development. Showcase interdisciplinary research methodologies and approaches for analyzing complex urban systems. Provide practical insights and recommendations for policymakers, planners, researchers, practitioners, and students involved in urban transportation and planning.

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before June 2, 2024, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by June 16, 2024 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters are expected to be submitted by August 4, 2024, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-anonymized review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.
