Introduction

One of the key factors determining the effectiveness of the public administration system is the level of professional performance of civil servants. In the age of digital transformation, the digital skills of the public servants are essential to maintain and improve the efficiency of public services. The introduction of digital technologies expands the tools for the work of civil servants, which requires updating their competence profiles. Training developers must offer strategies and programs to upskill and/or reskill public officials so that they are equipped with the talents to face the challenges and opportunities of the digital transformation. Before determining what digital skills and expertise an organization needs, first what skills employees have and what value they add to the organization should be considered. Not all organizations have the skills and infrastructure for human resources, big data, cloud computing, or even electronic services. These are top priorities today, and the sooner an organization adopts these technologies, the better they compelete the transformation.

Objective

Once they have identified the skills of their workforce, they need to look at the organization as a whole and determine where there are gaps in terms of digital skills. They should also constantly consider Artificial intelligence (AI), Machine learning (ML), and Cybersecurity.
