Introduction

Cheese is a dairy food product whose origins date back to ancient times. Cheese is made from the milk of many animals around the world, such as cows, sheep and buffalos, and these cheeses are consumed in different ways in different cultures. Cheeses, which have a great variety in terms of aroma, taste, structure, and shape, are very important for the gastronomy and tourism sector. Cheese tourism is a type of tourism that has been on the rise in recent years. Although it is a type of special interest tourism, it can also be classified under gastronomy tourism. Since cheese production techniques and consumption patterns vary from culture to culture, cheese tourism is also an intriguing topic for cultural tourists.

Objective

The aim of this book is to present a global perspective on cheese tourism, which has begun to be examined frequently in gastronomy and tourism literature in recent years. For this purpose, researchers from all over the world are expected to provide information about local cheeses in their own countries, to create routes if they do not already exist, to link the cheese industry in their country with the tourism sector, and ultimately to create a reference book for cheese tourists and the tourism sector.

The target audience of the book will be academics, researchers, students, practitioners, and the tourism industry.
