The Construction of "Translation Knowledge Base" in the Age of Intelligence: The New Development of Online Teaching and Research

With the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, schools around the world are migrating to online-only environments to mitigate the spread of this virus. In this situation, understanding how to conduct stable and effective online teaching and research is of the utmost importance. As such, IGI Global, in association with China National Publications Import & Export (Group) Corporation (CNPIEC), one of the largest import and export companies in China, are holding a free online seminar to discuss the construction and new developments in online teaching, translation, and research.


Webinar Description: During the seminar, the international senior translation scholar Dr. Chunshen Zhu, from Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), will explain the Application and Research Prospect of Computer-Aided Translation Online Learning and IGI Global editors Dr. Yuanyuan Mu and Prof. Wei Zhao will introduce the Construction of "Translation Knowledge Base" Online and Collaborative Teaching in Public Crisis based on the research found within their journal, The International Journal of Translation, Interpretation, and Applied Linguistics (IJTIAL).

Prof. Chunshen Zhu

Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen)

Topic: Application and Research Prospect of Computer-Aided Translation Online Learning

Biography: Dr. Zhu is an international senior translation scholar with an academic career covering the United Kingdom, Singapore, mainland China, and Hong Kong. He received his Ph.D. in English translation from the University of Nottingham in 1993 and then taught at the National University of Singapore (1993-1998) and City University of Hong Kong (1998-2017). He is now a professor of translation at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), a visiting professor at Beijing Foreign Studies University and an honorary researcher at the translation center of Hong Kong Baptist University. His research interests include translation, poetics, linguistics, and literature. In 2000, 2001 and 2006, he won the Song Qi translation research Memorial Award.






Dr. Yuanyuan Mu

Hefei University of Technology

Topic: Construction of "Translation Knowledge Base" Online and Collaborative Teaching in Public Crisis

Biography: Dr. Mu is an Associate Professor of Foreign Languages College of Hefei University of Technology and serves as the Director of Translation and Corpus Research Center of Hefei University of Technology. Additionally, she is a part-time editor of The International Journal of Translation, Interpretation, and Applied Linguistics (IJTIAL)





Prof. Wei Zhao

Shandong University (Weihai)

Topic: Assist Translation Learning, the First Translation, and Linguistics Open Access Journal of IGI Global

Biography: Prof. Zhao had a Ph.D. in translation, and currently serves as a professor at the School of Translation at Shandong University in Weihai, China. She has vast experience in translation as she is a freelance translator and is a visiting scholar of the University of Wisconsin in translation studies. She also serves as the lead editor for the IGI Global journal, The International Journal of Translation, Interpretation, and Applied Linguistics (IJTIAL).



Ms. Yvonne Li

Managing Director of IGI Global’s China Subsidiary Office

Topic: IGI Global Focus on Academic Research

Biography: Ms. Li has been engaged in the publishing industry in China for 15 years. She has worked in China offices of many famous international publishers and has rich industry experience.
