Description & Coverage
Description:

Higher Education management and academics are currently faced with the task of balancing a market and competition-based education versus values- based education, as people trudge through the Anthropocene era when humans have a substantial impact on the planet. The holistic and comprehensive nature of higher education that aims to instill a range of ethical, moral, and social values in students is paramount. The graduates that enter the workforce must unfailingly become responsible members of society and inadvertently contribute to the nation’s prosperity and global harmony. Strong leadership and the agency to keep learning are unavoidable. Furthermore, the vast technological advances may drive practices that prioritize social responsibility, sustainability, and well-being.

Digital Leadership for Sustainable Higher Education presents key parameters for transforming higher education in response to the significant and unforeseen changes in the educational landscape. It explores the vast technological advances together with the complexities of the higher education ecosystem and proposes ways to uphold purpose-driven practices. Covering topics such as digital health, credentialing, and nurturing empathy, this book is an excellent resource for educators, higher education leaders, technologists, sustainability experts, professionals, researchers, scholars, academicians, and more.
