Abstract

Supply chain management (SCM) requires the integration and coordination of business processes and the alignment of the strategy throughout the supply chain to satisfy end customers. Therefore, the business processes must be integrated and coordinated. In addition, strategic imperatives have to be harmonized, including environmental sustainability. We are particularly interested in Green supply-chain management (GSCM), which can be defined as the integration of environmental thinking into supply chain management, including product design, the manufacturing processes, and the management of the product at the end of its useful life. The evolution and the progress in technology and the new supply management methods have drastically changed the way things are done in recent industries, such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, the Internet of Things or Blockchain. This study explores the impact of technologies on green supply chain management as a facilitator or as an obstacle, based on some prominent case studies reported in the literature.
