Vander Tavares

Vander Tavares earned a PhD in Applied Linguistics from York University, Toronto, in which he explored the academic, linguistic, and identity-related experiences of multilingual international students in Canada. He is currently an instructor of academic communications skills at Sheridan College, Mississauga. He has extensive experience working with multilingual domestic and international students at the post-secondary level in Canada. His teaching and support experiences have focused on the development of academic language, critical thinking, and research skills in college and university students. In addition to Sheridan College, he has worked with multilingual international students at York University, Brock University, Seneca College, and Saint Mary's University.
