Hardeep Kaur

Dr. Kaur is a Chemist with a strong background physical Chemistry, nanotechnology, Biochemistry, and inorganic chemistry. Presently, she is working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biotechnology, Chandigarh University, Mohali, India. She completed her Graduation (B.Sc. Non-Medical) from Govt. College Ropar (affiliated to Panjabi University, Patiala); master’s degree in inorganic Chemistry from Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib and her PhD (Physical Chemistry – Synthesis of carbon and coinage metal based nanosensors for selective detection of pollutants) from Chandigarh University, Mohali, India. She has published many peer-reviewed papers and book chapters in reputed international/national journals and books chapter like Springer, Taylor & Francis, Elsevier, and Water, Air, & Soil Pollution, Results in Chemistry, Journal of Inorganic and Organometallic Polymers and Materials. She has received grant from DST funded project (Project Title: Low-cost eco-friendly Novel Carbon Based Nanosensors for Selected Heavy Metals and Pesticides) under Kiran Division WOS-B since 2021-2024. She had been awarded with different titles in international conferences. She had received “BHARATRATNA Dr. RADHAKRISHNAN GOLD MEDAL AWARD” on 10th Oct 2020 presented by Global Economic Progress & Research Association, in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu. Also, Best Young Scientist Award in Chemical Sciences associated of the 2nd International Conference on Advance Interdisciplinary Research (ICAIR-2023), Jointly organized by Digvijai Nath Post Graduate College, Gorakhpur, UP & Science Tech Institute, Lucknow, UP, India on April 9th, 2023 & Presented by MKSES Educational Society. She does research in Physical Chemistry, nanomaterials, Photochemistry, nanosensors. Her research activities have focused on synthesis and characterization of coinage metal and carbon-based nanomaterials from traditional medicinal plants and waste materials and further evaluation of their sensing potential for metal and pesticides in water. Currently, his research group at Chandigarh University is investigating the field of more environmentally friendly synthesis of metal nanoparticles and carbon nanodots using plant extracts/plant-based biomass followed by assessing their biological, catalytic, and sensing potential.
