Abdul Samad Kazi

Abdul Samad (Sami) Kazi, senior research scientist at VTT, the Technical Research Centre of Finland is a Civil Engineer by profession, a Construction Manager by area of specialisation, and a knowledge management evangelist, construction IT specialist, groupware and collaborative tool explorer, virtual organisation researcher by area of interest and expertise. Sami has industrial experience and maintains close links with the construction industry throughout his research. He is actively involved with the industry on soft issues in KM in addition to the identification and development of IT infrastructures to support the same. Sami has conducted research in several areas including: project planning and control, computer based training, construction management, knowledge management, system dynamics, construction IT, information modelling, product and process modelling, cost planning and control, Internet based technologies, groupware tools and technologies, mobile communications, information modelling, mind mapping, concurrent engineering, virtual enterprises, organisational learning and assessment. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a Master of Engineering degree in Construction Engineering and Management from the Middle East Technical University, Turkey, and the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand respectively. Sami is listed in the Marquis Who’s Who in Science and Engineering.
